HOW TO CAST WASHED AWAY TO YOUR TV

Learn how to cast video to your Apple AirPlay or Google Chromecast-equipped TV or TV device using your iPhone, iPad, or Android mobile devices.

NOTE: Your device and TV must be using the same internet connection.

To AirPlay this video to an Apple TV or other AirPlay-capable device:

  1. Start playing a video on your device.
  2. Select the AirPlay icon airplay_icon.png in the bottom-right corner of the video.
  3. Select the device that you’d like to view the video on to cast to that device.

Viewers can also AirPlay videos from the Safari browser on macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. To do so, select the AirPlay icon airplay_icon.pngin the Video Player and select your preferred device.

To cast a video to a Google Chromecast device, or a device with Chromecast built-in:

  1. Start playing this video on your Android device or in the Google Chrome browser.
  2. Select the Chromecast icon  in the bottom-right of the video.
  3. Select the device that you’d like to view the video on to cast to that device.

How to cast Vimeo from iPhone (Safari) to Chromecast

Option 1: Screen Mirroring

  1. Make sure your iPhone and Chromecast are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. On your iPhone, swipe down from the top right corner to open Control Center.
  3. Tap the “Screen Mirroring” button.
    Choose your Chromecast device from the list.
  4. Now anything on your iPhone screen, including Vimeo in Safari, will show on your TV.

Option 2: Google Home App

  1. Download the Google Home app if you don’t have it.
  2. Set up your Chromecast using the app if you haven’t already.
  3. Open the Google Home app.
  4. Tap on your Chromecast.
  5. Find and tap the “Cast my screen” button.

Your iPhone screen will mirror to your TV. Open Vimeo in Safari and play your video.

Remember:

  • Screen mirroring might make your video quality a bit lower.
  • Screen mirroring uses more battery on your iPhone.

⚠️ Note: Chromecast’s default setup will experience difficulty playing HLS playlists on some devices. As an alternative, use the A/V DASH MPD Playlist URL instead.
